Hey everyone, my name is Chris and I run HomeNetworkGeek.com and the Home Network Geek YouTube channel.
I’ve had an interest in IT and technology ever since I was young and still at school. I studied it and then found myself as an IT professional straight after school which I am still doing to this day. Most of my working day is filled with providing technical support to users.
It was when I bought my first home in 2017 that I became particularly interested in home networking and setting up a smart home.
I started with the original Amazon Echo Dot as my voice assistant and it has been growing more and more ever since. I now have a ton of smart home devices that I continue to use on a daily basis and just make me and my family’s life that bit easier.
My home network has evolved too with lots of experimenting and testing being done as well as the majority of my tech now being hooked up using Ethernet.
In 2019, I started Home Network Geek.
My goal with this site and the YouTube channel is to pass on the knowledge I have obtained over the years and make it as easy as possible for you to set up your own home network and smart home.
It can seem complicated at times, but I am here to guide you there the process step by step.
Here on Home Network Geek, you can expect to see:
- How-to guides
- Questions and answers
- Product reviews and comparisons
- My recommended gear
- And more!
I really hope you enjoy your time here on the site. I have spent hundreds of hours producing all of the content myself in an effort to make it your go-to resource for everything smart home and home networking.
Here are some of my most popular articles to get you started.
